Salmon & Steelhead w/ a Driftboat

A good way to see new water on a river is from a driftboat. During the salmon season I like to fish rivers in Western Washington. Trolling or spin fishing are good bets for salmon. A small outboard motor can be used w/ a driftboat for this type of fishing.  When the steelhead (SH) are migrating up river, a driftboat can be used to float down a river using the current, and rowing only as needed. Common fishing techniques from a boat include “plugging” [keep boat stationary w/ current giving action to the plug], drift fishing, spin fishing & fly fishing.
